Dr Hedaya pioneered the use of Functional Medicine in the Psychiatric field. He is now pioneering the use of HYLANE technology in the treatment of neuropsychiatric disorders such as aphasia, various forms of dementia, Parkinson’s, facial blindness, and some psychiatric disorders (e.g., treatment resistant depression). Dr. Hedaya is a Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at Georgetown University Medical Center, where has been awarded the “Teacher of the Year” on 3 occasions.

Dr Hedaya has been at the cutting edge of medical practice, psychiatry and psychopharmacology since 1979. With the publication of his first book, Understanding Biological Psychiatry. Dr Abraham Hoffer, after reading Dr Hedaya’s second book about Functional Medicine and Psychiatry (The Antidepressant Survival Guide) met with Dr Hedaya, and told him “This is the book I always wanted to write.” A very high compliment from the father of OM. Currently Dr Hedaya has pioneered HYLANE technology for use in various neuropsychiatric disorders, which is used in combination with Functional Medicine and traditional medicine when needed. Ketamine Assisted Therapy is an additional tool Dr Hedaya is using in selected patients with OCD, and trauma.
