The purpose of the Canadian Society for Orthomolecular Medicine (CSOM) is to further the advancement of orthomolecular medicine throughout the Canada, and to unite the clinicians and academic contributors in this field. The Society serves to educate health care professionals in the principles and practice of orthomolecular medicine through continuing medical educational programs and other resources for health care professionals.
Since 2009, the Canadian Society for Orthomolecular Medicine has sponsored the development and presentation of numerous continuing medical education programs, seminars, and grand rounds for health care professionals including: medical doctors, psychiatrists, pharmacists, naturopathic doctors, nurse practitioners, chiropractors, and registered nutritionists. Representatives of the Society participate in primary care conferences, and provide academic detailing for physicians interested in improving patient outcomes with orthomolecular medicine.
The programs developed and presented by CSOM have received accreditation by the College of Family Physicians of Canada; College of Naturopathic Physicians of British Columbia; Ontario College of Pharmacists; Board of Directors of Drugless Therapy-Naturopathy; and the College of Naturopaths of Ontario.
