Looking for an orthomolecular practitioner?
Orthomolecular medicine is practiced by different types of healthcare professionals, including medical, naturopathic, and osteopathic physicians; pharmacists, and nutritionists. Each of these professions has a scope of practice that is defined by applicable regulations and standards of care.
In many regions, orthomolecular medicine is considered as ‘complementary’ or ‘alternative’ to pharmaceutical medicine. This is primarily due to the exclusion or marginalization of scientific information which supports the use of natural substances for preventing and treating disease.
The International Society for Orthomolecular Medicine does not provide referrals or recommendations for individual healthcare professionals. Practitioners can be found by contacting professional associations that maintain a directory of members within your region.
