This continuing education program focuses on commonly prescribed medications associated with drug-induced nutrient depletion and helps prescribers identify drug-induced nutrient depletion as a potential mechanism for clinically relevant medication side effects.

At the conclusion of this activity, participants will be able to:
1. Define what drug-induced nutrient depletion is, and recognize the related mechanisms and strategies for prevention.
2. Define the adequate intake (AI), estimated average requirement (EAR) and recommended daily allowance (RDA) for nutrient intakes.
3. Name three (3) commonly prescribed medications associated with drug-induced nutrient depletion.
4. Identify drug-induced nutrient depletion as a potential mechanism for clinically relevant medication side effects in
three (3) scenarios.
